Our God is Greater

This has been one incredible month. The past 30 days have shown us the power of God and the power God uses through prayer. Several weeks ago I was informed that we were without $2500 of funding monthly and we were still facing raising over $28,000 in seed money. I was at depressions door as I spent my last day on staff at Urbancrest at work somewhere else and we were without a core team. Even through all that God has shown Himself to be strong. In the next few weeks, I will have some exciting news to share with all of you. I can't wait to tell you what God has shown us in the last week. He is providing and showing Himself as faithful. I am simply blown away and can't wait to tell you what He has shown me. I know, you want to know what I am talking about, but I cannot speak about it yet because of allowing .... well that would let the cat out of the bag. Oh, I wish I could tell you, but just wait and you will shout with me.

So we stand at $2,500 short of our monthly support and $28,000 of our seed money. We have purchased our plane tickets and our moving truck come Feb. 16th. We haven't sold our house yet, but after what I learned today, that is a done deal with God. When He is ready to sell it, He will. My God has been incredibly faithful and I cannot wait to get to Hawaii and see Him at work. In the next month, we will be releasing a website and moving. Wow, how great our God is.

On another note, it has been an absolute pleasure to be on staff at Urbancrest. I have learned so much the past 6 years. Have there been hard times and people, yes! But it has all worked together to teach me and grown me. I am going to miss all of our fellow workers in Christ and our church family. You all have been a great blessing to my family and especially myself. Most of all, I am going to miss my Pastor. Pastor Tom has been a great friend and even better mentor. If you ever get a chance to learn from him, you better. He has great wisdom and has been very loving toward us as we grew. Thank you Pastor Tom for your leadership and love. I will truly miss being around you each week but will use what you have taught me to lead others to Jesus.

God is too good

Recently I have been feeling alone in this journey. When I feel alone, I get overwhelmed and try to do too much. This has been a time of stretching for me. One of the things I had grown use to having something to work with when beginning a new ministry. Most ministries I have been involved in have had someone there for me to lead and then those people would reach their friends. What I have learned in 9 days

Nothing ... just kidding. I actually have learned a ton in our 9 days here in Hawaii and here they are: 1. I am going to fast and my plans are not always the Lord's plans. I thought I would hit the ground running, like every church position I have taken. WRONG, I have learned that God's timing on things are better than me trying to force things. 2. God's timing is incredible and what is needed. I have felt guilty for not being in Kapolei every minute we have been here. However, God has not opened our living in Kapolei yet and through the counsel of other church planters and pastors, my job right now is to get my family settled. This has made Michelle and I have honest talks about time away from home. 3. Our finding a house and vehicle were miracles. Nothing short of it! God is rocking it here!

The last week has been incredible. I have seen God open up and invite us into people's lives. I am so excited, I do run around this Star Bucks shouting GLORY (Joe Veal'ish). I have been coaching volleyball here in Kapolei and God gave me an God appointment at the airport with one of the player's parents last week Monday. Then last night, a parent on our flag football team asked me what I did. I got to share our vision for our church and invited him to bible study. At first I thought he blew me off, but at the end of practice he asked when we were starting and told me he is bringing his wife with him. Are you kidding me? God did that and has allows us to invite other people to come over for dinner beginning next week. God has been rocking it! Today I had a two hour conversation with a man I will identify as Mr E ( he seems very influential here and I don't want to shame him).
